SUMMARY:PRACTICAL TRAINING: HOW TO GET OFF THE HAMSTER WHEEL OF ORACLE CLOUD QUARTERLY UPDATES
DESCRIPTION:One of the key challenges Oracle Cloud customers have is keeping pace with the quarterly upgrade schedule for Oracle Cloud applications. \nA typical upgrade process involves several routine tasks\, such as:\n-Reviewing upcoming changes and assessing the potential impact on users and existing processes\n-Performing UAT cycles in a sandbox environment\, in preparation for the production rollout\n-Preparing and disseminating documentation and other self-help materials in case of significant UI or process changes\n-Assessing the impact on user productivity of issues introduced by the upgrade\, to adequately allocate IT and other resources towards their resolution\n-Finally\, being able to engage a fast response team to deal with such issues\, in orders to minimize their impact on business \nThe team tasked with managing this process can be easily overwhelmed\, given that these upgrade cycles happen so frequently. \nIn this webinar we will discuss some practical tips and tools that can help you effectively prepare for and deal with these upgrades\, making your life easier\, helping you deliver a better quality of service to your business stakeholders: the actual end users – your employees. \nLearning Objectives:\n1. SUMMARY:APEX World 2021
DESCRIPTION:Unfortunately\, the eleventh edition of APEX World this year could not take place due to the Corona crisis. In 2021 we would still like to make another attempt. Given the most recent developments around Covid-19 and a possible vaccination against it in early 2021\, we at nlOUG believe that it is wise to organize APEX World 2021 a little later in the year than usual. \nOn Wednesday June 2 and Thursday June 3\, 2021 we organize APEX World 2021 \nat the KNVB Campus in Zeist! \nWe will probably have a scoop as the first live event *. We are fully engaged in the preparations; there are plenty of ideas to make it a special event in many ways. Of course we take into account all safety regulations of RIVM and the government. Fortunately\, we have found a flexible and cooperative partner in terms of location in the KNVB. Further details such as registration start\, ticket price and program will be announced as soon as possible. The ‘Call for Papers’ is now open. If you would like to contribute in the form of a presentation\, you can submit your presentation using https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1-e3zepwlCm2QQhjLO6CrUjDoEDpmTeBpNMyFCxZrJQs/edit \nKeep an eye on our website for more updates. We look forward to seeing many of you again in June. \n* If a physical event turns out not to be possible\, it will be moved to a later date.

SUMMARY:Five (5) Oracle Machine Learning Notebooks You Should Know!
DESCRIPTION:Oracle Machine Learning Notebooks provide a collaborative user interface for data scientists and business and data analysts who perform machine learning in Oracle Autonomous Database–both Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) and Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP). Oracle Machine Learning Notebooks enables data scientists\, citizen data scientists\, and data analysts to work together to explore their data visually and develop analytical methodologies. The Notebooks interface provides access to Oracle’s high performance\, parallel and scalable in-database implementations of machine learning algorithms via SQL and PL/SQL\, with support for Python and R coming soon. Easy to understand and easy to repurpose\, OML notebooks enable novice\, intermediate and expert Oracle data professionals to leverage OML’s 30+ algorithms for classification\, regression\, anomaly detection\, attribute importance\, clustering\, associations\, text mining and other machine learning problems. This HOL session steps users through five (5) “must see” OML notebooks that serve as the core of many data science projects: classification\, attribute importance\, time-series forecasting\, text mining and anomaly detection. Come learn how to get started using Oracle Machine Learning to tackle a wide variety of data-driven problems. \nThis session was orginally included in the UKOUG Conference 2020 however\, due to a technical issue it did not run as planned. \nRegister\nThis event is free for members of the UKOUG. If you are a guest that registered for the UKOUG Conference 2020\, please <a>contact us</a> with your booking details to book for this session for free. \n\n\n\n\nSpeaker\n \nCharlie Berger\, Oracle \nCharlie Berger is the Senior Director of Product Management\, Machine Learning\, AI and Cognitive Analytics for Oracle Server Technology.
