Speaker Bio:

Sandesh Rao
VP, AIOps and Machine Learning, Autonomous Database, Oracle

Sandesh Rao is a VP running the AIOps Automation for the Autonomous Database Group at Oracle Corporation specializing in using AI/ML for different use cases from predicting faults before they happen to Anomaly Detection within log data, metrics data. His previous positions have focused on performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery, and architecting cloud-based solutions using the Oracle Stack. With more than 18 years of experience working in the HA space and having worked on several versions of Oracle with different application stacks, he is a recognized expert in RAC, Database Internals, PaaS, SaaS, and IaaS solutions and solving Big Data related problems. Most of his work involves working with customers in the implementation of public and hybrid cloud projects in the financial, retailing, scientific, insurance, biotech, and tech space. Anil Nair is the Product Manager for Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC). Oracle RAC is a cluster database with a shared cache architecture that overcomes the limitations of traditional shared-nothing and shared-disk approaches to provide highly scalable and available database solutions for all your business applications.
Anil has been involved with Oracle RAC since its inception. He has helped various customers with Oracle solutions specifically around Performance, availability, Scalability aspects for about 20 years

Markus Michalewicz

Markus Michalewicz has been with Oracle for 20 years in various positions. He is currently a Vice President with Oracle America and manages the Oracle Database High Availability (HA), Scalability, Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA), and Cloud Migration product management (PM) team, which is part of Oracle Database development. Using database technologies such as Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Application Continuity (AC), and Oracle Data Guard, including the Active Data Guard option, his team has helped to ensure 24*7 availability of critical, high-throughput OLTP and DWH database systems around the world and revolutionized the way Oracle’s customers get to experience the Oracle Database on-premises as well as when moving into the cloud using Zero Downtime Migration (ZDM). Applying real-world experience and customer feedback, his team has been instrumental in designing Oracle’s Database Cloud offerings, including Oracle Autonomous Database, following and defining Oracle’s industry-leading Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA) best practices.
