DB Viscosity Training: Upgrading to Oracle 19c

Join ODTUG and Viscosity for a hands-on virtual class that introduces upgrading to Oracle 19c. In this two hourclass, students will get hands-on experience with on how to upgrade databases to Oracle Database 19c.</span>

A virtual presentation will be followed by the hands-on practicum on performing an actual database upgrade. Attendees will have access to a virtual machine with Oracle database versions 11.2.0.4 and 12.1.0.2 pre-installed with the latest PSU.  Attendee can perform database upgrades from Oracle versions 11.2.0.4 or 12.1.0.2 to OracleDatabase 19c (19.7 or higher).

We have a limited number of user logins are available for hands-on lab, so be sure to register quickly as a “Hands-On Participant” if you want to secure a login for yourself. Registration is unlimited for those only interested in watching/listening.

The hands-on-lab will consist of the following:

• Installing Oracle Database 19c software
• Patching the database software to the latest Release Update (RU)
• Performing pre-upgrade tasks prior to the database upgrade
• Upgrading an Oracle 11.2.0.4 or 12.1.0.2 database to Oracle Database 19c with the latest RU
• Performing post-upgrade tasks after the database upgrade
