DB Viscosity Training PART 3: ORACLE DATABASE PERFORMANCE TUNING

Join ODTUG and Viscosity for a hands-on virtual class that introduces upgrading to Oracle 19c. In this class, students will get hands-on experience with on how to tune your Oracle database 19c.

Oracle database upgrades often lead to performance related issues. This is due to the number of underlying technical changes in software, introduction of new features, and general enhancement of the products. With many 19c upgrades going on, it’s good to know how to use the many technical features in Oracle for dealing with or even eliminating performance issue.

In this lab we will go through some of the basic skills that every DBA should have around performance tuning from enhance explain plans and gathering statistics to using SQL Plan Management. We will also cover the differences between SQL Baselines and SQL profiles. This session should be good if you are an experienced DBA just brushing up on your skills, or new to using Oracle database performance tuning tools.
