1º GUORS Meeting of 2018 – Review

Hey all!
Long time I want to write this review because it was a great event!

It was mostly for local users (up to 200km around) and got some interesting sessions. A quick summary:

  1. O novo DBA, change or die! (the new dba, change or die): A very nice catch by Felipe Rache (Oracle). We could discuss there some about the new challenges for DBAs and some alternatives to fit in what is going to happen next (just around the corner). We got some examples about connectors and non-structured data manipulating from Oracle perspective.
  2. EBS Upgrade 12.2 – Lessons learned from DBA Team: Another great discussion, now conducted by Gustavo Tourinho (DELL) about some challenges when planning big changes with big teams for big environments. We discussed mostly the role DBAs, Sysadmins, Support Engineers and Devs should play and how to improve those processes.
  3. Oracle Autonomous Database Cloud 101: This was my session, basically covering all that was released and discussed about Autonomous Database so far. This is a very recent tool with not much material, so I played the role of the curious DBA looking for more info and tried to bring that and share with my friends. 🙂

I just hope everyone who was there enjoyed that much as I did to be there, share experiences and make new contacts.

See you in the next meeting!
