ACCESSRULE, PROG *, IPADDR your.ip.addr.here, ALLOW

 Oracle documentation is good here.
Valid for Manager

Use ACCESSRULE to control connection access to the Manager process and the processes under its control. You can establish multiple rules by specifying multiple ACCESSRULE statements in the parameter file and control their priority. There is no limit to the number of rules that you can specify. To establish priority, you can either list the rules in order from most important to least important, or you can explicitly set the priority of each rule with the PRI option.

OGG-01411 – Cannot convert input file ./dirdat/xx with format RELEASE 9.0/9.5 to output file ./dirdat/zz

Hi.

If you search solutions to this Error, you will perceived only one documented root cause:

Error:

OGG-01411  Cannot convert input file ./dirdat/xx000549 with format RELEASE 9.0/9.5 to output file ./dirdat/zz000034 with format RELEASE 12.1.

Cause:

“The output trail of the data pump has a different format (version) than the input trail of the data pump”

If you are using GG 12.1 version, and all trails (rmttrail and exttrail) are correctly set with “format release”, you fell into a bug.

Oracle recommend to do upgrade to GG 12.2.

To work around this issue and start process, you need write a new trail, perform etrollover and reposition pump process.

On the Target System, process works fine, but not receive new trails, because pump process are abended.

How To Delete Archive Logs From Downstream Database

After deploy GoldenGate with downstream database option archives from downstream database not cleaning ? All database transaction are gracefull, but archives (from downstream) are not cleaning?

Are no log transactions registered on GG Extract?
check this:

GGSCI (dbcloud) 3> send ETL01 showtrans

Sending SHOWTRANS request to EXTRACT ETL01 ...

Oldest redo log files necessary to restart Extract are:

It’s is a common stuff in Oracle Database not stable or it’s taking some 00600.

Review items:

  • Oracle Database alert log
  • If user process has been killed
  • Network communication (IPTABLES stuff)
  • Server crash

Suggest you to review ‘Master Note: Troubleshooting ORA-03113 (Doc ID 1506805.1)‘ on Oracle support services and keep database away from ORA-03113.

🙂

GOLDENGATE process show RUNNING status, when not RUNNING.

This might occur in case of crash on host or database node where goldengate is running.

Goldengate maintains information about the process status in the file system, when the server crashes the file that has PID data is not released, and the process status in GGSCI shows erroneous information.

In GGSCI, process status it’s OK:

GGSCI (greporaLAB.net) 7> info mgr

Manager is running (IP port greporaLAB.net.7809, Process ID 42064).

If you try to stop process, you will not be able to:

ERROR OGG-02077 Extract encountered a read error in the asynchronous reader thread and is abending: Error code 1683, error message: ORA-01683: unable to extend index . partition by in tablespace.

Check db alert_*.log, you should find some alert.

ORA-1688: unable to extend table SYS.WRH$_ACTIVE_SESSION_HISTORY partition WRH$_ACTIVE_1470969483_24757 by 128 in tablespace SYSAUX
ORA-1688: unable to extend table SYS.WRH$_ACTIVE_SESSION_HISTORY partition WRH$_ACTIVE_1470969483_24757 by 128 in tablespace SYSAUX

Resolving issue:

alter tablespace SYSAUX add datafile '+DG' size 1g;

Some options are:
Reduce AWR retention:

SQL> SELECT extract(day from snap_interval) *24*60+extract(hour from snap_interval) *60+extract(minute from snap_interval) snapshot_Interval,
extract(day from retention) *24*60+extract(hour from retention) *60+extract(minute from retention) retention_Interval
FROM dba_hist_wr_control;
SQL> exec DBMS_WORKLOAD_REPOSITORY.modify_snapshot_settings(retention => 10800, interval => 10);

Reduce Statistics Level:

SQL> show parameter STATISTICS_LEVEL
NAME                 TYPE        VALUE
---------------------------------------------------------
statistics_level     string     ALL

SQL> alter system set STATISTICS_LEVEL = TYPICAL scope=both sid='*';

Type your message when beep 🙂
